What's coming in the latest update?

Lunar Cycles

Well obviously, hence the title. Hahaha. But what exactly do we have to look forward to in terms of the changing shapes of the moon?

The lighting will be affected in all worlds depending on the phase the moon is currently in which I think is pretty cool. Although, it is not the case in the magical realm as it already has its own unique lighting system I guess.

There are eight phases in total. By default, the phase changes every night but you can change the length of the cycle in the settings. If however the moon changing is not your thing, you can disable it too, or keep it solely on one particular phase of your liking.

I am happy you can customise the moon settings to your own preferences.

What I loved hearing in the sims update patch notes was that each of the phases affects your sims. You can check out what boost they will have upon you if you hover your cursor over the little moon icon in the UI section.

The calendar is also updated with the moon cycles so you can see what phases are upcoming.

As stated in the patch notes, 'Occult Sims will find that the moon now plays an extra role in how their powers behave. During certain moon phases, Mermaids have less hydration loss, Vampires recharge power slower, Spellcasters cast spells more successfully, and Aliens receive a special moodlet while moon bathing (which is also now a thing for all Sims Teen and older)!

There are some new interactions that toddlers now can do in regards to talking about the moon. They can ask some questions about it and say goodnight to the moon. This is adorable BTW!

You can moon gaze through the observatory or the new addition of the small telescope.

HALLELUJAH!!! The small telescope is making its grand appearance. Finally.

The base game gets one new telescope addition and our new Werewolves game pack will also present us with a second style specific for that pack.

EXCITING NEWS!

Death by a meteor is now a thing in-game, so if you spy one coming at you in the SCOPE, you better say 'NOPE!' and run inside before you get squished. 😀

There will be 10 new moon prints available when you moon gaze while using it.

New beard coming

A new beard is included too encase you felt ya needed one 😀

Who's excited about the moon phases and small telescope? I personally cannot wait to see the gorgeous moon glowing in the sky in all its transformational glory.
